Heritage Employment History
1988-1990
Tour Guide at Epworth Old Rectory, Lincolnshire, the childhood home of John and Charles Wesley, the founders of Methodism.
 
1990-1997
Tour guide and historical re-enactor at Gainsborough Old Hall, Lincolnshire, a medieval manor house; one-time home of Queen Catherine Parr, the last wife of Henry VIII, and a secret place of worship for some of the Mayflower Pilgrims.
 
1999-2005
Tour Guide and gallery assistant at Nottingham Castle, famous for Robin Hood.

Undertook new research into fine art and artists in the Nottingham Castle collection.

Queerstory Tours founded (as Pegasus Tours) – lgbt history tours of Nottingham.

Founder member of Nottinghamshire’s Rainbow Heritage (NRH) set up with Heritage Lottery Funding to research and record the lgbt history of the county.

Produced material on lgbt participation in sport and lgbt Olympic athletes for the LGBT History Month and Federation of Gay Games websites.

“Wesley 200”, a week-long exhibition to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Methodism.

“Misterton Millennium”, a week-long exhibition in my home village covering 1,000 years of its history, co-produced with my brother.

Contributed research into gay victims for the Holocaust Memorial Day display at Nottingham Castle.
